Blessed Zulu is a Zambian software engineer who designs, builds, and maintains Zamcalc. He created the platform to turn Zambia's scattered official tax bands, contribution ceilings, and utility tariffs into simple tools anyone can use, and leads its ongoing upkeep as laws and tariffs change.

Why I build Zamcalc

The numbers Zambians need - PAYE tax bands, NAPSA and NHIMA ceilings, ZESCO tariffs, import duty rates - are published by official bodies but scattered across government websites, PDFs, and gazette notices. Zamcalc pulls them into one place as fast, free tools that give you an accurate answer in seconds, on the web and offline in the Android app.

How I keep the figures accurate

Every rate in Zamcalc traces back to its official source - ZRA, NAPSA, NHIMA, ZESCO, the Energy Regulation Board, HELSB, the Bank of Zambia, etc. Rates are held as a single source of truth on the platform. Each calculator cites the authority it relies on, and the figures are revised whenever a law or tariff changes. To catch changes faster, Zamcalc is building automated monitoring of these official sources into its update pipeline, so new tariffs and tax bands are flagged and applied quickly rather than relying on manual checks alone. Results are estimates to help you plan, not a substitute for advice from the relevant authority or a licensed professional.
